The American soft spring wheat Mida is a mid-season variety with an awned spike, white or black awns, and red grain. The plant has medium height and moderate resistance to lodging, and it is prone to shattering if harvesting is delayed. The variety was valued for its good baking qualities with protein content from 11% and was used in breeding programs as a parent line.
Italian scientific literature of the 1970s mentions a separate durum wheat (Triticum durum) variety named Mida, developed by the CNEN agricultural laboratory as a new variety for that period.
1 jurisdiction
Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
