The variety was bred in Sicily, Italy, using the Trinakria variety as the maternal line. It is intended for cultivation in semi-arid Mediterranean conditions.

The variety is distinguished by a high gluten strength index, with the alveograph W index reaching a value of 393. The plant possesses good germination and root system development characteristics, although it may exhibit reduced growth rates under extreme salinity levels.
