The Primoasi variety is an Italian-bred soft winter wheat. Depending on the classification, the variety is assigned to the milturum (awnless red) or erythrospermum (awned red) varieties, which are characterized by red ear coloration.

The variety is characterized by a lower thousand kernel weight compared to a number of other samples participating in comparative trials. Specific data on plant height, maturity group, or resistance to pathogens are absent in the published studies.
