The variety «Agalia» is the result of breeding work conducted using biotechnological methods. The starting material was the «Bs6» mutant, selected in 2004 from «Blue Parrot» plants propagated by the in vitro method.

Plants of this origin belong to the parrot tulip group. Compared to the original «Blue Parrot» variety, the «Bs6» genotype is distinguished by flower length increased by 1.5–2 cm and peduncle length by 7–10 cm, as well as a red-purple flower color instead of purple-violet.

In scientific literature, the variety is mentioned primarily as an object of research in the fields of somaclonal variation, micropropagation methods, and genetic resource conservation. Detailed agrotechnical characteristics, such as maturity group or exact height, are absent in open publications.
