The «Montezuma» variety is a plant 40–50 cm in height, sometimes reaching 60 cm. The goblet-shaped bud extends to 7–8 cm upon opening. The petals are colored in a rich dark purple-red hue.

The plant possesses high winter hardiness, is resistant to wind and rain, and shows no susceptibility to color breaking (variegation). The variety is well adapted for forcing, including in water, and is widely used as material for cut flowers and the decorative design of flower beds.
