The variety is a hybrid obtained by crossing the Plantyn clone and the Siberian elm Ulmus pumila. The tree has an upright oval or rounded crown with ascending branches and a straight trunk, which usually begins to branch at a height of three meters.
The leaves are ovate or lanceolate with wavy yellow-green margins, remain green in autumn, and fall late. The bark is gray-green with gray-orange cracks. The flowers are bisexual, apetalous; flowering begins in late February in trees from five years of age.
The variety is characterized by a fast growth rate and high resistance to Dutch elm disease, proven by artificial inoculation with the pathogen. The wood properties are comparable to the field elm Ulmus minor.
