The variety is a selection form of the species Ulmus minor, selected from seeds of Hungarian origin. The plant is characterized as a medium-sized or large tree, exhibiting intensive growth at a young age.
A key morphological feature is the characteristic corky ridges on the bark, noticeable at early stages of development. The variety is recognized as the most resistant to Dutch elm disease among the studied samples of the species and demonstrates good drought tolerance, which makes it promising for landscape use.
