The variety is a hybrid of Ulmus parvifolia and Ulmus americana. At 20 years of age, the tree reaches a height of about 9 m, with a growth potential of up to 15 m. The crown is open, with a weeping habit of the branches. The leaves are small, glossy, dark green, turning shades of yellow to reddish-brown in autumn.
The bark of young trees is silvery-gray-green, becoming reddish-brown and deeply furrowed with age. The plant possesses high resistance to Dutch elm disease and good adaptability to urban conditions, including soil salinity and drought. The root system is taproot, and growth rates in youth are slow.
