The Fiorente variety is a direct hybrid between the Siberian elm (Ulmus pumila) and the field elm (Ulmus minor). The mature tree reaches a height of 15–25 meters and possesses a slender pyramidal crown with a dominant central trunk. Growth is intensive, with annual increments exceeding 1 meter under favorable conditions.
The leaves are lanceolate, up to 8 cm long, rough on the upper side and pubescent on the underside. The color changes from a yellowish hue in spring to dark green in summer and golden-yellow in autumn; foliage remains on the branches until December.
The plant possesses high resistance to Dutch elm disease (Ophiostoma novo-ulmi). The variety is adapted to challenging urban environments, is resistant to wind, drought, heat, and air pollution, and also tolerates temporary flooding and soil salinity. The wood is suitable for furniture production.
