The variety is the result of an Italian breeding program. Its parent forms are the hybrid elm Plantyn and the Siberian elm (Ulmus pumila, clone S.2). The use of the latter provided the plant with genetic resistance to Dutch elm disease and drought tolerance.
The tree is distinguished by attractive foliage and an upright crown shape. The variety is characterized by high growth rates and is intended for ornamental landscaping of parks, gardens, and urban areas. It is adapted to the Mediterranean climate, however, on poor soils, including chalk and clay, it may exhibit lower productivity.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
