The tree is characterized by dark, slightly glossy foliage. In terms of crown shape and growth habit, it resembles European elm species, while the morphological traits of the leaves and fruits correspond to the parent species Ulmus davidiana var. japonica.

The variety possesses only moderate resistance to Dutch elm disease, which led to the discontinuation of its commercial use in landscape design. At present, the variety is valuable as a maternal parent in the creation of resistant hybrids, such as New Horizon and Rebona.
