The plant is a decorative crop classified in horticulture as a semi-evergreen biennial or short-lived perennial. Externally, it forms a rosette of oval or oblong wrinkled leaves of a dark green color.
During the period from late spring to summer, it forms branching flower stalks. The buds have a purple-red hue, opening into white flowers with a purple-red flush or center. The plant height reaches 90 cm, with a spread of 60 cm.
Used in landscape design, especially in steppe areas, and as a cut flower crop, maintaining freshness in bouquets for up to 5 days. Suitable for various soil types, provided good drainage is ensured.
