The plant forms a leaf rosette up to 20 cm in height; flower stalks with inflorescences reach 45 cm. The flowers are large, gathered in spicate racemes, and the flowering period lasts from June to August. The variety is often described as a short-lived perennial or a plant with a biennial development cycle.
The variety is drought tolerant, tolerates poor, dry, and stony soils well, and is frost-hardy for USDA zones 5–9. The stems are strong and usually do not require support. It has moderate resistance to leaf spot, but is susceptible to powdery mildew and root rot.
The right is granted for a limited term: propagation of the variety requires a license from the rights holder.
