A mid-season variety that ripens 2.5 weeks after the Chasselas variety. Bushes have high vigor; shoots have green internodes. Due to early bud break, the variety is at risk of damage from spring frosts, requires winter covering, and yields well with short pruning.
Leaves are large, entire or slightly dissected, with medium-density pubescence on the underside. The flower is hermaphroditic. Bunches are large, cylindrical-conical or conical, often winged, dense or medium-dense. Berries are medium or large, round, white, with thin skin and a harmonious taste.
The variety is used primarily for the production of neutral white wines; it is sometimes classified as a table-wine variety. It has low resistance to fungal diseases, and high susceptibility to grey mold is noted.
