Variety description

The variety forms vigorous bushes with vertical shoot growth and weak lateral shoot formation; the vine ripens well. The clusters are of medium or large size, cylindrical in shape, and of medium density. The berries are rounded, dark violet in color with thin skin.
The plant has high yield, requiring normalization to obtain high-quality raw materials. Frost resistance is up to -22°C. Resistance to downy mildew is at the level of Eurasian varieties, to powdery mildew it is slightly increased, and the variety is practically immune to gray mold.
Wines from Acolon are distinguished by a harmonious, full taste and soft tannins with notes of cherry, plum, and dark forest berries. The wine material pairs well with aging in oak barrels. The variety demonstrates good sugar accumulation in the climatic conditions of Germany.
