Variety description

The variety originates from the Isère river valley and the Rhône department, being an old representative of folk selection. It is genetically related to the Mondeuse Blanche and Viognier varieties. The plant is distinguished by vigorous growth and a semi-erect habit, preferring deep warm soils on well-lit slopes.
The grape clusters are small or medium, compact, and cylindrical in shape. The berries are medium-sized, elongated, with a thick skin that turns amber with gray spots upon ripening. The flesh is melting, with abundant sweet juice. The yield of the variety is characterized as irregular and requires moderately long pruning.
The variety possesses good winter hardiness, yet it is susceptible to downy mildew and gray mold, while maintaining relative tolerance to powdery mildew. It is weakly prone to ovary drop. Wines produced from this variety possess high aromatic intensity with hints of orange blossom and mirabelle plum.
