The variety is native to the Aragon region and is not a product of breeding. It is currently being studied for its resistance to pathogens, including fungi that cause dieback. The plant is well adapted to the climatic conditions of the Ebro River valley, including temperature fluctuations and variations in precipitation levels.

The variety is intended for winemaking. Its wines possess an intense color, a specific aromatic profile, and good acidity. Due to moderate alcohol accumulation and high polyphenol content, Beturian is suitable for the creation of wines intended for long aging.
