Variety description

The variety is a vigorous rootstock with a male flower type. The unfolding bud has a white-pink color and dense pubescence; young leaves have a bronze tint; the mature leaf is large, three-lobed, dark green in color, and often corrugated. Internodes of the shoots are about 14 cm.

It possesses high resistance to the root form of phylloxera and downy mildew, and medium resistance to the leaf form of phylloxera. Frost resistance of the buds reaches -30°C, and of the root system down to -7...-8°C. It adapts to various soil types, withstands active lime content up to 17–20%, and tolerates waterlogging poorly.

It ensures good survival and graft compatibility with the majority of European grape varieties, increasing the yield of grafted vines. On soils with low magnesium content, varieties grafted onto this rootstock may encounter difficulties with the assimilation of this element.
