The variety is a vigorous plant with a growing season of about 180 days and a functionally female flower type. Despite the possibility of forming small berries, the plant is not used for harvesting due to the lack of nutritional value of the fruits.

The rootstock possesses high resistance to the root form of phylloxera, frost resistance of buds down to -30°C and roots down to -9°C. It tolerates drought and calcareous soils with an active lime content of up to 20% well, although on fertile lands it can cause delayed ripening of the scion.

The plant roots well, but sometimes demonstrates insufficient affinity with some scion varieties, which is manifested by uneven thickening of the graft union. The main role of the variety is to provide a reliable foundation for cultivated grapevine varieties.
