The variety is mid-season and was found in abandoned vineyards of the Ordal mountains. Genetic studies have confirmed the uniqueness of the variety, while its origin remains a subject of debate regarding the presence of American vine genes.

The plant possesses good natural resistance to diseases. The variety has an exclusively technical purpose and is used for creating red wines with soft tannins, capable of barrel aging.
