The variety has ancient origins, is traditionally cultivated in Andalusia and Extremadura, and is a natural hybrid of the Hebén variety and an unknown variety. The variety is known for a large number of synonyms, as well as the existence of the Beba Roja mutation, characterized by the red color of the berry skin.
The plant belongs to white-berry varieties; the berries have light-colored skin. The bush is characterized by vigorous growth and high yield, however, harvest figures are subject to significant fluctuations depending on weather conditions. The variety is multi-purpose and is used both for fresh consumption and in wine production.
