The variety is a rootstock obtained by crossing the species Vitis berlandieri and Vitis riparia. It is characterized by a very late vegetation period of approximately 180 days and is not intended for berry production.

The plant possesses high resistance to grape phylloxera (root form), drought tolerance, and the ability to withstand up to 20–40% active lime content in the soil, which prevents chlorosis.

Morphologically, the variety has shoots with long internodes and a ribbed surface, adapted for the grafting process. The leaves are large, unlobed, with an open lyre-shaped petiolar sinus; the flower type is functionally female.
