The variety has a genetic link to Savagnin Blanc and is also known by the names Albarín Blanco, Raposo, Blanco País, and Blanco Verdín. The bunches of the variety are small, medium-dense, with oval yellow-green berries. The plant is well adapted to cool and humid coastal climatic conditions.

The variety possesses resistance to gray mold and downy mildew, but is susceptible to powdery mildew. The wines are distinguished by a pronounced structure, high acidity, and notes of citrus, apples, and herbs. Due to its specific profile, the variety is often used in blends to add freshness and complexity to the wines.
