The variety is the result of a natural cross between Muscat blanc and an unknown variety. The vines are characterized by medium vigor. Leaves are medium or small, round, almost entire or three-lobed, without pubescence on the underside.
Bunches are medium-sized, cylindrical-conical to pyramidal in shape, and compact. Berries are medium, round or ellipsoidal, dark purple or black-blue in color with abundant bloom and skin of medium thickness.
Brachetto belongs to mid-late varieties with harvesting in the first or second ten-day period of September. It possesses medium winter hardiness and good resistance to rot and mold with low to moderate yield.
The variety is intended exclusively for winemaking, especially for sweet sparkling wines with aromas of rose, wild strawberry, strawberry, and raspberry, characterized by low alcohol content, high acidity, and soft tannins.
