The Breidecker variety, also known by the synonyms Geisenheim 4984, Gm 49-84, or CD 4984, is the result of a cross between (Riesling × Silvaner) × Seibel 7053. It is an interspecific hybrid that belongs to early-ripening varieties.

The plant possesses resistance to downy mildew, powdery mildew, and gray mold. The produce is used for creating single-varietal or blended white wines, which are characterized by a fresh taste and aromas of apple and pear.

Currently, the variety is considered rare and has limited distribution globally, including New Zealand, Canada, and the USA. In 2016, it was approved for the production of the Austrian specialty Uhudler.
