The variety "Kosutuv hrozen", known in Hungary as "Kossuth Lajos", was bred by the breeder A. Stark. The origin of the variety is associated either with a cross between "Madeleine Angevine" and "Galan", or with a more complex breeding scheme (Madeleine Angevine × Muscat Lierval) × Duke of Buccleugh.

The plant belongs to table varieties of medium or early ripening. The berries are medium-sized, round, white with a waxy bloom, thin skin, and fleshy-juicy pulp possessing a muscat flavor. The variety is distinguished by above-average yield, but is characterized by low resistance to frost and fungal diseases.

Currently, the variety is rare, predominantly found in amateur collections. Previously, it was widely distributed in Hungary, Moravia, and Slovakia, and was also used as a parent form for breeding other grape varieties, in particular the Czech variety "Pola".
