Rootstock bushes are vigorous, with shoots reaching 4–5 meters in length. The powerful root system is capable of penetrating the soil to a depth of up to 7 meters, which provides the plant with high drought tolerance. The variety possesses high winter hardiness of buds down to -30 °С and roots down to -9 °С, and is also resistant to major fungal diseases and the root form of phylloxera.

The plant adapts well to light sandy soils and withstands a carbonate content in the soil of up to 35%. When used as a rootstock, it contributes to an increase in the weight of scion bunches and berries. In very fertile soils, it can provoke excessive vegetative growth, leading to a delay in crop ripening.

The rootstock is not intended for berry production, as its own fruits are small and the bunches are loose. It is used exclusively for grafting Vitis vinifera L. grape varieties.
