The variety is a bud mutation of the Kerner variety. Externally, it is characterized by medium-large, five-lobed leaves and medium-sized clusters. The berries have a reddish skin hue. In terms of growth vigor, the variety is classified as medium and shows a lower tendency to form lateral shoots.

The variety is of mid to late maturity. It is used for the production of white wines, the profile of which is close to the Kerner variety but distinguished by a softer fruit acidity. The wines are characterized by expressiveness and freshness; when producing dry wines, balancing with unfermented grape must is often required.
