The variety is the result of crossing the Schiava Grossa and Muscat of Alexandria varieties. The vines are medium-growing, with above-average vigor on fertile soils. The clusters are medium to large, conical in shape, and often loose. The berries are round or oval, with a thick skin and juicy flesh, covered in a dense waxy bloom. The variety is prone to berry shelling under adverse weather conditions during the flowering period.

The variety has low resistance to diseases: downy mildew, powdery mildew, grey mold, bacterial blight, and phylloxera. Winter hardiness varies, and depending on the region, there is a need to grow it in warm, sheltered locations. It requires proper training and pruning.
