The variety has ancient origins from Provence and a genetic link to the Muscardin variety. The plant is characterized by vigorous growth and high yield, requiring shoot positioning due to their tendency to lodge. Training the vines with short pruning and growing on trellises is recommended.

Clusters are large, cylindrical-conical, and often winged. The variety received its name due to the characteristic curvature of the pedicel. Berries are dark blue, medium-sized, with thick skin. White and gray color mutations also exist. The variety shows some resistance to powdery mildew but is highly susceptible to downy mildew and gray mold.

The variety belongs to late ripening groups and does not mature well in cold and humid climates. Wines from this grape are usually light, with low alcohol and acidity, as well as non-intense color. Currently, the variety is considered rare and endangered.
