Orbois is an autochthonous variety of the Loire Valley, genetically representing a hybrid of the Gouais blanc variety and an unknown parent. The leaves of the plant are rounded, slightly lobed, with pubescence on the underside. The clusters of the variety are usually small or medium, dense, of cylindrical-conical shape. The berries are small, golden-white in color, and rounded or elliptical in shape.

The variety possesses moderate vigor and good fertility. It is characterized by high productivity, which requires yield regulation to achieve quality indicators. The variety shows some resistance to Botrytis cinerea, however, it can be susceptible to frosts and fungal diseases.

The grapes are used in winemaking primarily for the production of white wines, including sparkling ones. The resulting wines possess high acidity and freshness with aromas of white flowers, apple, pear, and citrus. At full maturity of the berries, honey and pineapple notes can appear in the wine.
