The variety is a product of crossing (Silvaner × Riesling) × Müller-Thurgau and is also known by the breeding number Geilweilerhof 33-13-113. The plant has medium to strong vigor, and the flowers are hermaphroditic.

The grapes are suitable for cultivation on poor soils and are capable of accumulating a high level of sugar. The wines may exhibit aromas of pear and linden blossom; the variety has traditionally been used for blends in the Rheinhessen and Mosel regions.
