The variety is a product of a natural cross between an unknown maternal variety and the Achladi variety. It has a functionally female flower type, which requires the presence of pollinator varieties during planting. The berries are distinguished by an elongated shape. The variety is used as a table grape, although in a number of sources it is mentioned in the context of winemaking.

Olivette blanche has a large number of synonyms, including Bridal, Canon Hall, Ciminnisa, Cipro Bianco, Olivette de Montpellier and Olivette de Vendemian. The variety has repeatedly served as a parent form in the breeding of new hybrids, including the Ribol variety.
