ActiveVitis vinifera L. · Common grape vine
TIMOTHY SHEEHAN
10 August 2026
The mid-ripening variety is characterized by high vigor and a semi-upright bush habit. The plant is described as low-yielding, while possessing winter hardiness. The variety does not show high susceptibility to powdery mildew and downy mildew, but is prone to gray rot and black rot, as well as damage by the European grapevine moth.
The berries are small, with dark pigmentation; the clusters are compact. The leaves turn a red shade in autumn. Wines from Peloursin have a robust structure and notes of black berries; the variety is most often used in blends to improve the complexity of the bouquet.
