The variety was obtained as a result of crossing the varieties Roter Traminer and Müller-Thurgau. The plant is characterized by moderate vigor and forms a sparse leaf canopy. Leaves are small, three- or five-lobed. Clusters are medium, conical, dense, and winged; berries are medium-sized, round or slightly oval with pink or red skin.

The variety is noted for its good resistance to winter frosts and spring frosts due to late budburst. It has resistance to Botrytis cinerea, but is susceptible to powdery mildew. Wines from this variety possess a delicate floral aroma and, due to low acidity, are often used in blends or for creating rosé wines.
