The variety is the result of natural hybridization of the varieties Fetească Albă and Grasă de Cotnari. It belongs to the species Vitis vinifera L. and is widely distributed in commercial vineyards of Slovakia.

The grapes are used for the production of white wines, including sparkling ones, due to the high level of acidity. The berries of the variety have thin skin. Research on the variety is also being conducted in the context of processing grapevine waste.
