Jacquère is an indigenous variety of the Savoie region and a descendant of the Gouais Blanc variety. It is a wine grape variety with a medium to medium-late ripening period, characterized by high and stable yields with medium vine vigor.

The plant has hermaphroditic flowers and forms medium, dense, cylindrical-conical winged bunches. The leaves are large, five-lobed, and deeply dissected. The berries are medium, round or oval in shape, and change color from light green to golden yellow.

The variety is sensitive to grey mold and black rot, but shows relative resistance to downy mildew and powdery mildew. It is well-adapted to mountain growing conditions on clay-limestone and stony soils and requires short pruning for cultivation.
