The Sheegene 5 variety, known by the commercial name Early Red Globe, is a table grape with an early ripening period. When grown in the San Joaquin Valley, it ripens six weeks earlier than the Red Globe variety.

The berries have red skin color and contain seeds. The variety forms clusters on firm peduncles and is distinguished by good suitability for transport and long-term storage.
