For forming Hyacinthus orientalis beds, medium-sized bulbs are preferred as they ensure greater resistance of flower stalks to weather conditions compared to large-sized forcing stock. Planting is carried out in autumn at a soil temperature of 8–10 °C at a depth of 12–18 cm with an interval of 10–20 cm. A critically important condition is the creation of a 3–5 cm thick "sand jacket" to prevent basal rot.

The agronomy of bedding requires annual lifting of bulbs after the completion of the growing season, which is necessary for a full dormancy period and floral initiation for the following season. In open ground conditions, plantings require winter mulching and placement in areas without standing water, to which the hyacinth is highly sensitive.
