The use of Spanish lavender in bedding plantings is complicated by its low winter hardiness, corresponding to zones 8–10. In regions with harsher climates, container cultivation is preferable, allowing plants to be moved to protected locations, or the crop may be used as an annual.

When designing compositions, the morphological feature of the species must be taken into account: the presence of decorative bracts at the top of the inflorescence. In mixed border conditions, the plant tolerates higher humidity and heat better than Lavandula angustifolia. The recommended planting distance is 50 cm to ensure proper aeration.
