Placing lilies in flower beds requires grouping them in a way that provides shade for the lower part of the stem while ensuring sufficient ventilation between plants.

Lilies are not suitable for dense geometric plantings and develop better when placed in groups or clusters within mixed borders. The agronomic specificities require conditions where the inflorescences are in the sun, while the lower part of the stem is covered by low-growing neighbors to protect the soil from overheating.

An important factor when creating group plantings is maintaining a distance of 20–30 cm between bulbs to prevent moisture stagnation on the leaves and the development of fungal infections. It is also necessary to take into account the perennial formation of bulb "nests," which requires free space for the group to expand without the need for transplanting for five years.
