Growing Petchoa in containers requires high-aeration substrates and strict control of pH within the 5.5–6.0 range to prevent chlorosis. The hybrid combines the growth vigor of Petunia with the compact habit and self-cleaning ability of Calibrachoa, while possessing a more developed root system.

For successful container cultivation of Petchoa, the choice of substrate is critical: due to the roots' sensitivity to waterlogging, it is necessary to use mixes with a high proportion of perlite or vermiculite. Maintaining pH levels in the 5.5–6.0 range is mandatory, as exceeding a value of 6.2 significantly increases the risk of chlorosis caused by impaired iron uptake.

Unlike Petunias, Petchoa possesses a self-cleaning property, whereby withered flowers fall off on their own, maintaining a decorative appearance without the need for manual removal. The hybrid's vigorous root system provides increased resistance to stress and fluctuations in substrate acidity, yet the plant retains a requirement for regular watering and supplemental feeding during the peak flowering period.
