Growing petchoa in open ground is characterized by the formation of a dense, mounded habit and high resistance to precipitation and wind. The crop requires well-drained soils with a pH of 5.5–6.0 and regular feeding to ensure continuous flowering.

When planted in flower beds, petchoa forms mounds 20–30 cm in height and 50–80 cm in diameter. The plant possesses high tolerance to weather stress and maintains a tidy appearance throughout the season without additional pruning, as it does not set seed.

Optimal conditions include planting in soil warmed to +15 °C with a spacing of 20–25 cm. It is important to maintain a substrate acidity of no higher than 6.0 to avoid chlorosis and to perform regular fertilizing with a focus on phosphorus and potassium, while avoiding excess nitrogen.

Despite its drought tolerance, petchoa requires regular watering at the base and high-quality drainage, as stagnant moisture is detrimental to the root system. The absence of stickiness on the leaves simplifies care and contributes to high resistance to pests and diseases.
