Sugar beet is used in livestock farming as a source of processing by-products and as a concentrated carbohydrate feed. Due to its high sucrose content, it requires strict dosage in rations to prevent digestive disorders in animals.

The use of sugar beet in livestock farming is based on applying its industrial processing products: beet pulp, which is rich in pectin, and molasses, which serves as a high-energy additive. The crop tops are also a valuable fodder resource, containing about 18–20 feed units per 100 kg of mass.

When feeding the roots directly, sugar beet is valued for its high sucrose concentration (up to 20%), though it is distinguished by a lower fiber content compared to fodder beet. Due to the risk of rumen microflora disturbance from excess sugars, introducing the crop into the ration requires gradually accustoming animals and mixing it with other types of feed.
