The optimal method is drip irrigation, which ensures stable moisture in the root zone without waterlogging, to which the crop is sensitive. The seasonal water requirement is 200–350 mm, with irrigation intervals of 5 to 10 days; mulching is recommended to maintain coolness and moisture.
