The lily inflorescence is a primary marketability trait, evaluated based on bud count, type, size, and flower orientation. Inflorescence productivity correlates directly with the size of the planting bulb and the varietal characteristics of hybrid groups.

To evaluate a lily inflorescence, a complex set of parameters is used: total bud count per peduncle, morphological structure type, flower diameter and length, and their spatial orientation. The number of buds can vary from 3–5 in some hybrids to 30 or more in the Martagon group, with forms having a diameter of 20–25 cm considered large-flowered.

In commercial floriculture, the inflorescence determines the market grade of the product, and its quality depends on bulb size and agrotechnical conditions. Intensive blooming of large, heavy inflorescences requires monitoring stem strength to prevent lodging, as well as protection against physiological spotting, which reduces the decorative value of the product.
