Cultivation
Hosta Tratt.
An agrotechnical method of positioning a hosta as a landscape focal point, aimed at showcasing the potential of large and giant cultivars with a harmonious, symmetrical clump shape.
In the reference 8 varieties crop Hosta, where this is mentioned in the description.
For specimen planting of hostas, architectural habit and high ornamental stability throughout the entire season are critical. Preference is given to large and giant cultivars with a height of 70–100 cm, which are capable of capturing attention and forming a voluminous accent without losing the shape of the leaves.
Unlike group plantings, where the individual outlines of the clump are obscured, specimen placement allows the plant to demonstrate its texture and scale to the fullest. The plants are set out in isolation on lawns or accent areas, such as near water features, where lighting conditions are selected to highlight the cultivar's decorative characteristics.
