When determining yield, the marketable weight of produce meeting standards for density, shape, and lack of damage is taken into account. Harvest from plots where more than half of the plants have failed is excluded from statistical records. Under experimental conditions with optimized agronomic practices, the potential yield of modern hybrids reaches 120–145 t/ha.

A crucial factor in managing cabbage productivity is plant population density. To obtain maximum yield, the optimal density is often around 33 thousand plants per hectare, whereas sparse planting (23–27 thousand plants/ha) contributes to an increase in the size of individual heads. Realization of the genetic potential of heterotic F1 hybrids largely depends on the irrigation regime and the level of agronomic background.
