Yield of Persian clover

Trifolium resupinatum L.

A key economic trait of Persian clover, evaluated via green mass, dry matter, or seed yield, which significantly depends on irrigation regimes, sowing dates, and cutting frequency.

In the reference 6 varieties crop Persian clover, where this is mentioned in the description.

The yield assessment methodology is based on mowing sample plots, primarily at the beginning of flowering, with subsequent summation of results over the entire growing season, as the crop is capable of producing up to 3–4 cuts under irrigation. Evaluation is conducted in centners or tonnes per hectare for green mass and dry matter, and in kilograms per hectare for seed productivity.

Yield indicators vary significantly depending on cultivation conditions: under irrigation, hay yields reach 80–100 ц/ha, green mass yield for stubble crops can be up to 240 ц/ha, and seed productivity potential reaches 1000 kg/ha with average values of 150–300 kg/ha. This trait is closely linked to mowing dates and sowing density, which directly affect stand regrowth and plant competition for resources.
