Sarepta mustard is used in protected ground as an early-maturing salad crop and a phytosanitary green manure, possessing high cold tolerance for vegetation in lightly heated structures.

When grown for greens, mustard reaches marketable maturity in 18–20 days. Development under greenhouse conditions requires an illumination level of 100–120 W/m², and the primary phytosanitary risk is powdery mildew, which arises from microclimate disturbances and necessitates constant ventilation.
As a green manure, the crop is used during the off-season to improve soil structure and suppress Fusarium and Rhizoctonia, often in combination with the application of Trichoderma. The green biomass is incorporated into the soil in the pre-flowering phase when plants reach a height of 20–30 cm.
